Marla Neely

Marla Neely joined Foundation for the Carolinas in 2014 as a Special Events Manager. Her responsibilities included the execution of more than 200 social, corporate and nonprofit events. She currently serves as  senior director of events and venues, managing an events team that supports 300 meetings and events, generating more than $1 million annually. 

Prior to joining Foundation For The Carolinas, Marla worked with Childress Klein as Director of Event Services for the Wells Fargo complex uptown and Director of Audience Development for Charlotte Ballet. She received her MFA in Stage Management working with companies such as the Atlanta Ballet, Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, Urban Bush Women, Charlotte Ballet and Caroline Calouche & Co. 

Marla has been a member of the Charlotte Chapter of the International Live Events Association since 2003, serving on the board from 2006-2010. She has also served on the Charlotte Dance Festival Board. She is originally from Gaston County and resides in Charlotte with her husband and two daughters.
