Senior Vice President, Communications

Timothy Hager oversees public relations, social media, speechwriting, executive communications and crisis communications for the Foundation. 

At Foundation for the Carolinas, Timothy has helped lead several large-scale communications projects, such as the redesign and launch of the updated www.fftc.org website, the creation of a Crisis Communications Plan and the launch of the Foundation’s storytelling website, www.philanthropyFOCUS.org

Timothy has more than 25 years of experience in communications, first serving as a sports reporter, theatre critic, features editor and editor-in-chief for several newspapers and websites, including AOL, Golf.com, the Beaufort Gazette in Beaufort, S.C., and Up & Coming Weekly in Fayetteville, N.C. He previously handled marketing and public relations in leadership roles with the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head, S.C., and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. 

A graduate of Appalachian State University, Timothy is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum and spends his free time volunteering for local theatres as an actor and writer.
